The nation’s best 2yo fillies will be on show this Saturday at Caulfield when they contest the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude for Fillies, a race worth $125,000 and run over 1100m.
The Mick Price trained Samaready has opened as a $3.60 favourite and is also a Blue Diamond Stakes favourite in a fortnight from now, mostly due to her impressive win on debut at Flemington. Malasun at $5.50 is the other hot tip after winning the Blue Diamond Preview by 1.25 lengths on Australia Day.
Next in line is Applegate at $7.50, a Peter Snowden trained filly who won the Listed Emirates Airline Plate last weekend from a large field of sixteen horses. Formidable ($7.50) comes in with form also having won on debut at Flemington and backed that up with a second in the Listed Chairman’s Stakes last weekend.
Sweetener ($8.00), Members Joy ($9.00), Real Stolle ($12.00) and Tucan Haze ($13.00) all round out the next line of betting in what should be a very hotly contested race.
